Pamela S. Goettel

Pamela Sue (Kesten) Goettel of Tawas City Michigan passed away at the age of 78 on Friday October 3rd, 2025. She was born Oct. 24, 1946 in Flint Michigan to Louis Kestenand Dorthy Kesten. Pamela graduated from Fenton high school. She moved to the Tawas area with her husband Thomas Wayne Goettel in the 1970's. Pamela will be remembered as a devout Christian woman and a 40 plus year member of Lake Huron Community Church. Pamela dedicated her life to her family, church, community, and any struggling soul within by opening her home and arms, giving love any way she knew how. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and she would often be involved with Angel Tree to help collect and donate toys and gifts to ensure no one was left without. Pamela worked for many years at the Iosco County Humane Society where she learned and helped to raise various animals. She earned a certification in wildlife rehabilitation and she was always known for having a "critter" nearby. Pamela will be loved and missed by many.
Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Kesten and Dorothy Kesten and her husband Thomas W. Goettel. She is survived by her children, Sunnye Bakker and her husband Randy Bakker of Grand Junction, MI and Thomas Goettel and his wife Courtney Goettel of Williamsport, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Katye Bakker, Timothy Skiver and his wife Tabitha Skiver, Daniella Guilmette and her husband Zach Guilmette, Michael-Thomas Bakker, Ezra Goettel and Axel Goettel. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Guinevere Guilmette, and Calliope Guilmette.
Per Pamela's wishes, cremation has already taken place and there will be no services.
A memorial during morning service is scheduled for Sunday October 26, 2025 at Lake Huron Community Church in East Tawas. If you wish to share or attend all are welcome.
A final celebration of Pamela and Thomas's life will be held at a future date not yet determined.
