Pamela Gray Obituary

Pamela Michele Gray (nee Bailey) passed away on December 27, 2025, in Knoxville, TN.
Born on April 25, 1952, in Uniontown, PA, she lived her early life in Hopwood, PA before her family moved to the Pittsburgh area. She attended elementary school in Hopwood, Bethel Park, and Mt. Lebanon, PA, before graduating high school from The Village Academy in Bethel Park, PA. She went on to attend Penn State University, as well as graduating from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).
In college, Pam realized that she had a gift for computer technology, and after working in Harrisburg for the State of Pennsylvania, she moved to the Washington, DC area where she met and married her husband, Bob. Pam worked in the tech world as a Senior Systems Analyst and Senior Systems Engineer and was highly respected as lead. She has worked for USA Today, The Bureau of National Affairs, MCI Communications and Quest Communications. Pam received numerous awards in the tech industry, but she most valued the letters of appreciation from those on her team.
Pam loved dogs, birds, and gardening. She was a voracious reader, especially interested in history.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Althea B. Bailey, and her brother, Charles B. Tackaberry.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Gray, her sister Maureen McMahan, her stepson Greg Gray (Viki), her nieces, Christina Bevill (Chad), and Madison Imhof (Seth), her nephew Brandon McMahan, her grand nephews, Cy and Colbey Bevill; her beloved Beagle, Mia will miss her.
There will be no services planned at this time. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the ASPCA (ASPCA.org), Mercy Chefs (MercyChefs.com), and Samaritan's Purse (Samaritanspurse.org).

Pam was my friend, mentor, and teacher - my "Big" sister.

It was a true gift from GOD, that; she hired me, and; I worked with/for her 6-years at LCI. Unlike many senior tech and management leaders - she worked with us, side-by-side, no matter how hard, nor long our days. Pam was right there, working harder - right with us - on all things and in every challenge that came our way!

Among MANY other undeserved honors and gifts Pam gave, she honored me with calling me Yoda - in praise of the things I knew and shared along the way. From Pam ( and Bob ) I learned what it was like to truly share and celebrate the good things - Fabulous parties, Great cooking, a shared love of for legged doggy friends, and the MOST BEAUTIFUL and BEST DECORATED and CLEANEST homes I have ever seen in my entire life. These - just a few things that Pam shared her excellence and grace with us all in her life.

At work, in addition to her superior IT expertise, and second-to-none leadership, came smiles, jokes, encouragement and good coffee - ALL were common gifts she shared with us daily! Pam remained my friend and mentor throughout 30-years of my life. I was BLESSED to have spoken with her and emailed with her regularly, and we spoke only days before she passed over.

I will share my praise and memories with anyone who care to hear them, and; I look forward, most happily, to seeing her once again - in Heaven.

Thank you GOD for my Big Sister PAM! ;O)
