Pamela (Pam) Renee Heemstra, age 54, passed away on May 13, 2024 with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with lymphoma.
Pam was born on February 19, 1970 in Grand Forks, North Dakota to Arvin (Butch) and Katharine (Kathy) Heemstra. She graduated from Thompson High School and then went on to Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. Among the different jobs Pam held, Sun Chemical was where she worked most recently - a job she enjoyed very much, especially the people she worked with.
She loved traveling, spending time in nature hiking and camping, working on computer projects with her dad, and she was a highly skilled carpenter. While Pam lived in California, she played professional women's football for the Sacramento Sirens for 4 years.
Most of all, Pam loved her family, friends who became like family, and her pets.
Pam's journey touched the lives of many, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of strength and resilience. Her unwavering spirit in the face of adversity was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Pam had a strong faith in Jesus, which continued to grow throughout her life as she went through many trials and tribulations. It was so important to her that everyone had a chance to hear the gospel, repent, and follow Christ.
Survivors include her parents, sister Patricia (Chris) Miller of Grand Forks, ND and brother Brent (Erin) Heemstra of Brainerd, MN and nieces Gabrielle Carlson, Brittany (Jonathan) Wright, Jade (Damien) Symington, Kaycee Heemstra, Allison Heemstra and nephew Anthony Heemstra. She will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and the positive impact she had on everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
There will be a celebration of life to honor Pam on July 6, 2024 at 3 pm at her sister's home in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
