Pamela Drue Hollingsworth, 66, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Greenville on Sunday, August 24, 2025.
A native of Mount Olive, Pam was a proud graduate of Southern Wayne High School, Mount Olive College, and East Carolina University, where she later earned her Master's Degree. She dedicated her career to helping others, first as a rehabilitation counselor for the State of North Carolina and later as a Vocational Evaluation Specialist at ECU Health Medical Center. After more than 30 years of service, Pam retired, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and commitment to those she served.
Pam is survived by her mother, Betty Joyner Hollingsworth, with whom she shared a special and close bond; several cousins; and many dear friends who were like family to her. She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Hollingsworth; her paternal grandparents, Percy Hollingsworth and Nellie Hollingsworth Jackson; her maternal grandparents, Lonnie and Mertie Kelly Joyner; as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A service celebrating Pam's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025, in the Chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home, Mount Olive. She will be laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, beginning at 1:30 p.m., prior to the service.
