PAMELA LADD Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services on Jan. 24, 2026.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pamela J. Pope Ladd will be held at 2 PM Friday, January 30, 2026, at John E. Stephens Chapel with Bro. Jack Foster officiating. Interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 PM - 2 PM Friday, January 30, 2026, at John E. Stephens Chapel.

Pam Ladd, 66, passed away peacefully at her Kosciusko residence with her family by her side on January 23, 2026. She was born to Leo and Iva Lou Pope in Meridian, MS, December 18, 1959.

The majority of her life was spent in Attala County where she was employed by the local hospital as an RN. Her love and compassion for patients and others were a perfect match for her nursing career. Having no children of her own, she would often offer to work holidays for her co-workers in order for them to spend quality time with their children. She was once selected as Central Mississippi's Best Nurse based on the quality of her work and her professionalism.

Her days off and weekends were often spent in her yard nurturing her beautiful plants. She would also garden with her mother and expressed joy and heartfelt smiles when her plants bloomed for all to enjoy. She continued to care for her mother's plants for years after her mother passed.

She and her husband, Danny, and their dog, Dixie were known for their yearly camping trip to the "Great Smokey Mountains." A few weeks a year they filled their days hiking, sightseeing and absorbing the beauty of the mountains. Her giving spirit would be on display as she returned home with fresh apples, purchased from local mountain vendors, for her family.

Pam attended Smallwood Revival Center, in Winston County, where her mother attended as a young girl. Her faith in God was strong, and she often acknowledged God's grace and love. She knew that nothing could separate her from the love of God. In her last days on earth, she expressed joy over thoughts of tending flower gardens with her mother again, this time in heaven.

She is survived by her husband Danny Ladd, sisters Linda Shelley (Willie Nevels), Retha Bushby (Phil), Jan Nunn, brothers Randall Pope (Dorine), Terry Pope (Vicky). She cherished time spent with nieces and nephews and their children.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Iva Lou Pope, brothers Allen and Timothy Pope, stepson Neal Ladd, and nephews Dustin Ballard, Terry Pope, and Scott Pope.

Pallbearers are Glennis Nowell, Mark Ballard, Josh Pope, Cody Pope, Josh Watkins, Keagan Watkins.

Pam was the kind of nurse you would want to take of you or any member of your family. She was caring and one of the most knowledgeable nurses I have ever had the privilege of working with. My prayers are with her family.
