Pamela Sue Mitchell, 66, of
Elkhart, Indiana, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, at Goshen Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, following a brief illness.
Pamela was born on November 19, 1959, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to the late Michael and Norma (Sanderson) Amarose. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Anne Schwiderson, Linda Nye, a brother, Michael Amarose and a niece Jennifer Nye.
She graduated from Les Cheneaux High School, Class of 1977. Pamela met the love of her life, Edward Mitchell, and they were united in marriage on July 7, 1984, in Cedarville, MI. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and devotion.
Pamela was a dedicated and hardworking woman who spent many years serving the Baugo Community and Concord Community school systems as a custodian. She took great pride in her work and was known for her reliability, strong work ethic, and kind spirit.
Above all else, Pamela cherished her family. She especially adored spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She found joy in crafting, crocheting, baking, and tending to her beautiful flower beds-activities that reflected her creativity and nurturing nature.
Pamela is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Edward Mitchell; her children, Brandon (Hannah) Mitchell and Christina Mitchell (Sergio Rocha); her grandchildren, Faith, Chase, Brody, and Alexandra; and an expected grandchild, Sebastian. She is also survived by her sister, Wanda Ellis.
She leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews: Bob Schwiderson, Ricky Schwiderson, Michelle (John) Forrest, Michael Amarose, Henry Amarose, Tara Amarose, Nikki (Tim) Hulinek, Jimmy Ellis, Shauna McWilliams, Herbie Turley, Courtney Turley, Kaitlyn (Rob) Faria, and Kelsey Mitchell.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., with a memorial service immediately following at 6:00 p.m., all at Chapel Hill Funeral Home,
Osceola, Indiana.
A private inurnment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens,
Osceola, Indiana.
Pamela will be remembered for her loving heart.
