She was the eldest of eight children and the cherished daughter of Jack and Niada Mae McFarland. From an early age, Pamela carried the joyful responsibility of being the oldest sibling, always nurturing, always leading with love.
Pamela grew up on a farm, often barefoot in the fields, learning the values of hard work, resilience, and authenticity. Her rural upbringing instilled in her a deep appreciation for life's simple joys and the strength to pursue big dreams.
Pamela's curiosity and adventurous spirit took her far beyond Iowa. She lived in both New York City and Los Angeles, embracing the energy and diversity of the city. She danced through life and laughed everywhere she went.
In 1970, Pamela married the love of her life, David Sato. Together they raised Tina, Trinia, Wally, Teak, and Raini, building a life grounded in family, resilience, and love.
Pamela held a dedicated career at the school district. Her kindness and warm presence touched countless students, families, and colleagues throughout the years.
She traveled the world, visiting the Great Wall of China and exploring Europe, always collecting memories that reflected her bold and fearless heart.
Of all her accomplishments, Pamela was most proud of her family. Becoming a grandmother was one of her greatest joys, a role she embraced with endless love. Pamela is the proud grandmother of thirteen grandchildren, including one precious grandchild in heaven, Avry.
She celebrated every milestone and embraced every moment beaming with love. Her family will always remember her laughter, her support, love of animals, and the way she made them all feel like the most important person in the world.
