We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend, Pamela J. Simmons, who passed away peacefully on November 10 th surrounded by friends and family.
Pamela was a skilled musician who played the string bass for the Finger Lakes Symphony Orchestra while she was still in high school. She later graduated with honors from Tompkins Cortland Community College receiving a degree in Paralegal. She found joy in working as a polling inspector for Tompkins County, as well as positively contributing to her community in any way that she could. She was a proud mother to her only son Benjamin, and loving wife to her husband Ron. Beyond that, she was a natural caretaker who created a safe and loving home for more than just her own. She was always willing to extend a helping hand to anyone that may have needed it. Pamela cherished her friends and family and she was loved by many.
Pamela was predeceased by her father: Donald DeWitt. She is survived by her son: Benjamin Simmons, her husband: Ronald Simmons, her brothers: Joel & Rodd DeWitt, and her mother: Joyce DeWitt. Her family was her greatest pride, and her memory will live on in their hearts.
Services for Pamela will be held on Sunday November 16th . Calling hours will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by the funeral at 2:00 p.m. They will be located at Bangs Funeral Home in Ithaca, NY. The following day, November 17, a short service at the South Perinton United Methodist church in Fairport NY will be held at 12pm before the burial at the St. Patrick’s cemetery in Victor NY at 1pm. All who knew and loved Pamela are warmly invited to join in honoring and celebrating a life well lived.
