Pamela Kay “Pam” Atwood Ward, 74, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, after a lengthy illness.
Pam was born on December 13, 1950, to Tommy and Dorothy Atwood. She graduated in 1968 from Woodlawn High School. Pam worked as a mail clerk for South Central Bell for almost 25 years. Once she left there, she worked miscellaneous jobs...receptionist with Holmes Honda, courtesy car driver for Mercedes, a private sitter and caregiver at several facilities throughout Shreveport and then decided to delve into dog-sitting, which she had a true passion for. She would even mail the dogs a card for various occasions throughout the year. Pam was such a people person, never met a stranger, loved socializing and was always the life of the party.
Her hobby was going to Tinseltown often enough she was a VIP. Everyone knew her by name and would deliver her popcorn and coke to her in her seat.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Karen, and husband, Kenneth; sister, Kim Atwood; and a host of other family members.
A “Celebration of Life” Service for Pam will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025, in the Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Graveside will immediately follow at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery, 8801 Mansfield Rd. in Shreveport. Officiating the service will be Chaplain Paul Navarre.
Honoring Pam as pallbearers will be Deon Behrman, Wesley Chase, Jessie Davis, Curtis Greene, Andrew Montgomery and Ron Montgomery.
Special thanks to her special friend, Lorraine Free, Drs. Savory, Khera and Veluvolu, along with the staff at Willis-Knighton Health, Azalea Estates, and Heritage Manor South.
