Pamela “Pam” Wilkening, of Marshalltown, Iowa passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, November 21, 2025 at the age of 78.
Born Pamela Ellen Wood on June 28, 1947 in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was the daughter of Lester “Doc” and Amy (Davis) Wood. She spent her early years in Quarry before moving to Marshalltown at the age of six, where she attended school. She explored several different career paths, including waitressing, Meeker’s, working at the DOT, as well as an auditor at the casino.
On May 10, 1997 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Craig Wilkening. They made their home in Marshalltown. Pam found joy in simple pleasures like going to the casino and eating Zeno’s pizza.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 28 years, Craig; her children: Barbara Kelley and Robert (Cortney) Gear; grandchildren: Lindsey, Alexander, Colby, Dylan, Chelsea, Harrison, and Jackson; great-grandchildren: Mollie, Ayden, Kobe, Kasyn, Riley, Aubree, Roman, Taylen, and Saylor. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and countless dear friends.
In death, she is reunited with her parents; her siblings, Wava Ann Gail Crouch, Gary David “Butch” Wood, Claudia Jane Williamson, Gerald Leroy Carkhuff and Sandra Rae Gear; and her nephews, Shawn Williamson, David Wood, and Tony Butler.
Per the wishes of Pam and her family, cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation celebrating Pam’s life will be held from 1:00 until 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home.
