Parveen Ali Obituary
Ali, 26, of Pakistan, came to the United States in 2001 with her mother and two brothers. She worked odd jobs at a gas station and hotel while trying to get her high school equivalency diploma. She eventually wanted to go to college and become a teacher.
She was like a mother to her 24-year-old brother, Nadar Ali. "It's an extreme pain," he said. He described his sister as "like the base of our family. How can I describe it to you? She played a significant role in our family."
Ali recently gained citizenship, which allowed her to sponsor two younger brothers still in Pakistan to come to the U.S., said Kaniz Fatima, a family friend. Ali hoped for a reunion that would get them safely from the violent border region with Afghanistan.
"All her dreams are buried with her," Fatima said.
She liked little children and was the one who pushed Nadar to go to college. The two were scheduled to take a trip to Niagara Falls on Saturday.
"I guess we didn't make it."

Parveen was such a dear friend. I will miss her smile, her quick pace and her friendship. My prayers and thoughts are with her and her family. May she rest in peace.

I taught ESL to Parveen for a few years. She was a wonderful, dedicated, and compassionate young lady. I am proud to have know her and be a part of her life for a short time! I will miss her dearly. My thoughts of love and peace are with her and her family.

I worked with Parveen for a couple of months, and got to know her pretty well.. She was an amazing person, with a huge heart.. i will never forget the impact on my life that she created.. My prayers and loving arms go out to Ms. Ali's family.. She will never be forgotten..

Parveen was truly a wonderful person and it was my honor to get to know her. She was a person of strong faith and I am sure she is at peace now. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends as they struggle with this terrible tragedy.

Parveen,s tragic death is so painful for us, As I read about the struggles she faced to come to America and to take care of her family, I have a deep respect for this young woman. It is a shame that her life was ended so early and abruptly. She did not deserve this. My heart goes out to her family during this difficult time. I hope that Parveen is with God now. May God comfort her family and friends and give them strength to move on from this tragedy.
