To the Arthur family: our family was just informed today at a reunion of the Incarnation Lutheran Church CDC, recognizing 30 years of ministry, of Patti's passing. We were shocked and saddened. We have such precious memories of Patti in the early '90s as she directed the CDC and showed genuine love and joy for all the children there. My son loved her so much that he invited her to his 6th birthday party, and she showed up. She gave him a copy of Dr. Seuss's "Hooray for Diffendoofer." I can't believe she's gone. Patti was an angel on earth and we are forever grateful for her service in the Lord. What a precious woman. We are praying for your family's comfort and healing.

Clay and Hannah, My wife and I were classmates at Roanoke College with Patti and I ran into her at many Winter Celebrations during my time as a Pastor in the VA. Synod. I will always remember Patti as someone so full of life and fun. She was a joy. I'm heartbroken to hear of her loss. Our prayers are with you and your whole family. May God bless you in this time of heartache. I know that Patti is being welcomed home with assuring words; "well done good and faithful servant". John and Oneita Ericson.

I'm thankful I was able to walk in the light Patti reflected on a few miles of road at a couple of points in my life. One of many parts of her legacy will be the beautiful way she taught us to worship with our kids!
Forever grateful for Patti.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I filled in as tone chime director for a very short time at Incarnation and I remember Patti coming to visit me in the hospital after I had my first child and I thought it was so sweet that she would visit me when she didn't know me well. I also remember it was before she had a child, and she teared up as a friend and I were describing the love you feel as a new mother. What a sweet, thoughtful person she was.

Clay and family - Our first introduction to Patti and the wonderful service she performed was when our granddaughter Lillian (from Lebanon Lutheran Church) attended the confirmation classes last year at St Peter's church. Upon our first meeting, we knew she was a gift from God. What a beautiful, delightful person to meet and speak with during this confirmation time. She will be sorely missed and we are so grateful that Lillian was able to attend her confirmation curriculum. Our prayers are with you and Hannah and may God hold you both in the palm of his hand. --

I'd been friends with Patti in school as kids. We both had the performing bug & took part in local & school plays. I never forgot her - her smarts & her way with conversation at such a young age. She was dynamic. Very sorry to learn of her passing. Condolences to one & all.

Dear Thisted and Arthur Families--I am so sorry to learn of your loss and remember Patti from our Youth Group days. Words do not seem adequate to express my deepest sympathies to each of you. What a powerful legacy for the value of speaking directly to children and young people that Patti has left in her writing about the intersections of worship, liturgy, faith, and the Word of God. That surely is just the tip of the iceberg. Thank God for her life. With prayers, in peace, Susan Oehler Herrick, Cleveland, OH

I loved Mrs. Patti and will always have a special spot in my heart for her. The way she expressed her kindness and love to me as a child at Incarnation in Columbia will never be forgotten. She has touched me and all of us at Incarnation in a way that will never end, she was a GREAT person and will be missed by all of us very deeply.
