Patricia Marie (Christel) Aaker, aged 91, formerly of Litchfield, MN passed away at Regions Hospital in St. Paul on Oct 9, 2025. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, 11 AM at St. Philips Church in Litchfield, Minnesota. A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 10-11 AM at St. Philips Church. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.
Patti was born in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin to William and Hazel Christel on March 27, 1934. A graduate of St. Margaret’s and the University of Minnesota, Patti was a life-long educator, starting in San Diego and retiring from Litchfield School District in 1999
Patti was passionate about all that she believed and did. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother Mary and spent many hours studying theology, serving her church, and searching for meaning in scripture. A prayer warrior, she spent many hours in prayer and meditation on the Rosary. She ‘worked her beads’ often in petitions for her family and friends.
There is nothing Patti couldn’t do with a crochet hook or knitting needles, thanks to her Aunt Belle, and there are many people in the area who are now kept warm under the blankets, scarves, or mittens she created. Patti loved the outdoors, cardinals, dogs, and babies, but all things took a back seat to the devotion and love she had for her family. Patti embodied her stubborn German and Irish heritage, was a force to be reckoned with, and her energy, brilliant mind (Trivial Pursuit master), and passion will be missed. We all hope God is ready for her: She will be sitting at His feet learning all the answers she sought in life.
Patti is survived by her four children: Amy (Bruce) Stickney of Burnsville, Tony (Zanne) Aaker of Bluffton, SC, Annette Aaker of Spicer, Andrea (Brian) Rassler of Concord, NC, her four grandchildren (Tyler, Samantha, Nicholas, and Benjamin), and her two great-grandchildren (Dax and Dalton).
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, her three sisters, Jean, Helen, and Katie, and her husband, Bernie Neal Aaker.
“Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a little, I will set you over much; enter into the joy of your master.” Matthew: 25:21
