Patricia Ann Ballard, age 82, of Sulphur Springs, Texas passed away on October 14, 2025 at Christus Mother Frances – Sulphur Springs. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Patricia Ann Womack Ballard lived a life filled with love, faith, and service to her family, her church, and her community. A devoted member of the Church of Christ, League Street, Patricia’s life was guided by her faith and her desire to serve others in all that she did.
She was a proud graduate of Paris High School, later attending Aladdin Beauty College, where she trained in cosmetology. Her career journey led her to H.D. Lee Holding, Inc., where she worked for many years until her retirement.
Patricia dedicated much of her time to community involvement, serving as a Den Leader with the Boy Scouts and as a Neighborhood Chairman with the Girl Scouts of America. Her leadership and compassion left a lasting impression on many young lives. She also served as a Graduate Assistant for Dale Carnegie Associates, helping others to grow in confidence and communication.
In her personal life, Patricia found joy in sewing and gardening, hobbies that reflected her patience and creativity. Patricia’s love for her family was boundless. In her own words, she prayed that her “love and life have been of service to my family, my church, and mankind.” Her wish was for a private family candlelight service, with each person lighting a candle in remembrance of the light she brought into their lives.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all who were touched by her warmth and kindness. As Patricia once wrote, “I will love you forever.” Her light continues to shine in the hearts of those she loved.
She is survived by her sons, Bradley Ballard and wife, Debbie, Dennis Ballard and wife, Tracey; daughter, Sharon Smith and husband, Dale; grandchildren, David Ballard, Darren Ballard, Dustin Ballard and wife, Kara, and Ashley Shackelford and husband, Daniel; four great grandchildren.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents.
