Patricia Ann (Conn) Borlen passed away on October 27, 2025, at the age of 79 at Kathy Hospice. She was born on February 3, 1946, to John and Phoebe (McIntosh) Conn as the twelfth of fifteen children in Argonne, Wisconsin.
Pat was united in marriage to Donald Borlen on December 20, 1975, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.
Together, they raised two children: Jacqueline(Ben) Haeft and Dominic Borlen. She was the proud grandmother of two granddaughters, whom she cherished dearly: Isabelle and Katelyn Haeft.
After deciding to become a teacher in the fifth-grade, Pat lived her dream while employed by the Hartford Joint #1 School District. Nearly all of those 45 years were spent as a fifth-grade teacher at Rossman Elementary. She invested herself into each of her students, taking the time to uncover their strengths and celebrate their originality. Pat's passion extended beyond her own classroom as she mentored numerous aspiring teachers.
She filled her days of retirement by vacationing with her granddaughters, mowing the lawn, gambling, enjoying breakfast with the retirees, feeding her birds, and walking her dog Sprout. Yet, she never left the school district, returning to volunteer in classrooms at Rossman for many years. She was a 30-year cancer survivor and an avid supporter of Relay for Life.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents John and Phoebe Conn, in-laws Dominic and Millie Borlen, sisters Kathleen (Ward Flannery, Ray Wilson) Flannery, Angie (Gerald) Deaton, Sandy (Robert) Rogers, and Christine (Francis) Ison, sister in-laws Marilyn Conn and Mary Jo Borlen, brothers Bud, Ben (Teri), Gary, and Phil (Ginny) Conn, and brother in-law Bill Reeves.
She is survived by her husband Donald Borlen, her children Jackie (Ben) Haeft and Dominic Borlen, her granddaughters Isabelle and Katelyn Haeft, her siblings Leroy (Henrietta) Conn, Millie (Art) Haines, Audrey Reeves, Dorothy (Dennis) Kegley, Bill Conn, and Debbie (Lee) Derrickson, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family is establishing a scholarship in Pat's name through the HUHS Scholarship Foundation.
Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia will be held on Saturday, November 8th, 2025, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church (4886 State Rd 175, Hartford, WI 53027). Family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. until the start of Mass at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Richard Stoffel will be officiating.
