Mrs. Patricia Dawn Langley “Pat” Burke, age 85, of Burlington, NC, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Herbert Langley and the late Ethel Susan Burke Langley and was married for 67 years to Samuel David Burke, Sr., who survives. She retired from Western Electric / Lucent after 33 years of employment and was a founding member of West Burlington Nazarene Church, which later became Powerline Nazarene, where she was the past President of the Missionary Society and a longtime choir member. She was an avid baker and her Brownstone Front cakes routinely brought the highest bid at the church auction for missions. Pat and her husband were active members of the Alamance Region Antique Car Club and she was very proficient at working with stained glass. She also enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, knitting and was an excellent seamstress.
Mrs. Burke is survived by her husband of the home; three children, Teresa Burke Watson (Brad), Samuel David Burke, Jr. (Myra) and Timothy Michael Burke (Robin); eight grandchildren, Brian, Bridgette, Emersen, Beau, Lily, Brooke, Laci and Heather; eleven great grandchildren; a sister, Dianne Weatherford (Donnie); a brother, Danny Langley (Debbie); brother-in-law, Perry Foust; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Bonnie Foust; and a brother, Herbert “Herbie” Langley.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jerry Gardner and Rev. David Middendorf. A private family burial will be held on Monday. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:45 Sunday prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to the Powerline Nazarene Church Building Fund at www.powerlinechurch.org or 701 Manning Ave., Elon, NC 27244.
