Patricia "Pat" Sue (Antell) Carson, age 81, of Naytahwaush, MN, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at her home in Naytahwaush.

Patricia "Pat" Sue Antell was born on February 26, 1944, in White Earth, MN, the daughter of William Antell and Julia Beaupre. Much of her childhood was spent growing up in the Naytahwaush area, but as a young woman, she moved to the Twin Cities. Even as a child, Pat carried the spirit of a peacemaker. When she and her sisters were young, she often had to sleep between Yvonne and Wanda to keep them from fighting in bed, a role she seemed destined to carry throughout her life.

Pat was blessed with six children: Thomas "JJ," Patricia, Arlene Jean, Georgia, Demitrios, and Maryann, which later led to numerous grandchildren.

After spending time in St. Paul, MN, she met Hank in the late 1980's, and together they moved back to the reservation. They shared many good years before his passing. Pat furthered her education at White Earth Community College and worked as an advocate for the White Earth Nation.

Always willing to help, Pat cooked meals for many, cared for her aging father, and was a voice for people when they could not be one for themselves. She was a listening ear whose door was always open to family and friends in need. Pat was proud of her sobriety and felt deeply connected to her roots and Native American traditions. She could skin a deer faster than most men. Throughout her life-and the many trials and tribulations she endured-Pat remained steadfast and resilient, even becoming a breast cancer survivor.

In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, working on crossword puzzles, gardening, and never turned down an opportunity for a road trip to the casino. She will be dearly missed by many.

Pat is survived by her children: Thomas "JJ," Patricia, Arlene Jean, Georgia, Demitrios, and Maryann; a host of grandchildren; close nephews Chris and David; and several other beloved family members. She is also survived by her younger siblings on her mother's side: Jean, Robert "Mutt," Cinder, and Suzie.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her longtime companion, Hank; and her sisters, Nancy, Yvonne, and Wanda.

May her spirit travel gently along the Spirit Road, guided by the ancestors and welcomed with open arms. May the Creator hold her close, and may her memory continue to live on in the songs, stories, and traditions of her people.
