Patricia E. Cielinski (née Torpey), 88, of Elyria, Ohio, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023, at her daughter Pam's home, surrounded by her family.
Pat was born June 12, 1935, in Pottsville, and lived in Elyria since 1963.
She was a graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School in 1953.
She was a retired partial business owner of Eastern Press in Pottsville.
Pat was a Girl Scout leader and former member of many St. Jude Catholic Church organizations, including being a founding member of St. Jude Catholic Church liturgy commission.
She loved bowling, gardening and, most of all, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There was nothing more important in her life than loving and caring for her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John J. Cielinski Jr., in 2012; parents, James J. Torpey and Madeline Torpey (Honicker); and brothers, James F. and Richard P. Torpey.
She is survived by her three daughters, Patrice C. Pritchard (Joseph White), of Tampa, Fla., Pamelynn C. Carver (Richard), of Elyria, Ohio, and Polette C. Marozsan (William), of LaGrange, Ohio; three grandchildren, Erin C. Vaughn (Mike), of Tampa, Fla., Amie E. Kiedrowski (Michael), of Westlake, Ohio, and Zachary J. Marozsan (Ashley), of Parma, Ohio; and two great-grandsons, Joshua C. Vaughn and Levon T. Kiedrowski. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of the Western Reserve for all the care and support they provided to Pat and her family over the past several months.
Family and friends will be received beginning at noon until the time of Mass at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, with Pat's nephew, the Rev. Father James F. Torpey officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville. Local arrangements are being handled by Lord-Bixler Funeral Home Inc. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Catholic Church, Elyria, Ohio, or to Hospice of the Western Reserve, Cleveland, Ohio.
