The staff of Heishman Funeral Home/Valley Funeral Service sends condolences to the family of Patricia Ann Cornell McKenzie.
Patricia Ann Cornell McKenzie, 84, of Luray, VA, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 2:00pm at Valley Funeral Service in Edinburg. Pastor Stephanie H. Litten will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Jackson Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Patricia was born March 17, 1940, in Alexandria, Virginia, daughter of the late George and Clara Good Cornell. She retired as a housekeeper from Skyline Terrace Nursing Home and worked for Holly Farms Poultry Plant for 25 years. She attended United Methodist Church in Quicksburg, VA.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward McKenzie Sr.; brother, James Cornell; sister,
Betty Hoffman; one grandson; and one granddaughter.
She is survived by her children, Charles McKenzie Jr. (Mary Jane) of Luray, VA, Sandra Coverstone (Late husband, Floyd Coverstone) of Strasburg, VA, Deborah Brown Swartwout (Troy) of Stephen City, VA, George McKenzie of Luray, VA, and Harry McKenzie (Laurie) of Luray, VA; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Pallbearers will be Derek Brown, BJ Brown, Josh McKenzie, Jordan Jenkins, James Cash, and Zach Feaster.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jack Hoffman and Davie Vann.
Patricia enjoyed taking care of her family, cookouts, and driving across the Skyline Drive.
In honor of Patricia's love for dogs, contributions may be made to Shenandoah County Animal Shelter, 268 Landfill Rd, Edinburg, VA 22824.
