Patricia "Patti" Beverly (Witt) Dalidowicz, age 83, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Springhurst Health Campus. She was born in
Chicago, Illinois on October 27, 1942, to Florian and Eugenia (Wruk) Witt. She attended St. Hyacinth Grammar School and Alvernia High School, both in
Chicago, IL. Patti attended Loyola University. She married John Edward Dalidowicz on September 18, 1965, and the two honeymooned in Bermuda.
Before marriage, Patti was a secretary for the American Medical Association in the Sports Department, and after marriage, she was a housewife raising children. She was involved in Psi lota Xi, Upsilon Chapter, and was the president of the Philanthropic Sorority in Greenfield. Patti was a member of the Parent-Teacher Association for St. Michael Catholic Church in Greenfield.
During the kid's grammar school years, summer was reserved for seeing the United States. During those seven years, the car was packed, and Patti and her family went to see some of the great wonders of the United States. Among the more memorable destinations were Yellowstone and the Old Faithful geyser, Mount Rushmore, Death Valley, Yosemite, Grand Kenyon, Carlsbad Caverns, and many others along the way.
After the kids went to college, one to University of Dayton and the other to Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, Pat and her husband, John, started spending time in Costa Rica and on some of the islands in the Caribbean, such as St. Thomas, St. Croix, Martinique, and Aruba.
After her husband, John, took an early retirement from Eli Lilly and Company, the world really opened up for them. Distant and lengthy trips were now possible and off they went to see the world.
Over the next number of years, they took at least one trip per year. Starting with the Mediterranean countries, they made the following trips each year: Portugal; Spain, Gibraltar, and Marocco; Italy and Southern Switzerland; a boat trip on the Aegean Sea - a highlight of the trip including a visit to the House of the Virgin Mary near Ephesus, Turkey where the Turkish government pays for the upkeep of the property; Greece; Egypt - Cairo, the pyramids, and a five-day voyage on the Nile River; Paris and London by the way of the Chunnel Train; Poland -a fun trip since her husband, John, knew the polish language and after an official tour of Poland, they rented a car and visited John's relatives; China - Panda Bears in Wuhan, Yangtze River cruise from Wuhan to Shanghai, the Forbidden City in Beijing; and lastly, Australia and New Zealand. Besides touring the two countries, they also visited John's relatives in the Australian cities of Melbourne and Adelaide.
A year after John's retirement, tired of doing nothing during the winter months, they decided to give Florida a try for two months. They loved it so much they came back for twenty-three years, increasing their stay first to three months and finally to three and a half months; coming in the middle of December and leaving at the end of March. Then when the COVID epidemic came, their trips to Florida came to an end.
Patricia is survived by her husband, John E. Dalidowicz; children, Michael Phillip (Kathleen Elizabeth Lytle) Dalidowicz and Peter Christopher Dalidowicz; and grandchildren, Joshua Thomas Dalidowicz, Amy Elizabeth Dalidowicz, and Brian James (Annie Margaret Weckesser) Dalidowicz. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florian and Eugenia Witt.
