Patricia (Pat) J. Del Vecchio, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, at the age of 86.
She was born on April 29, 1939, in Manhattan, NY, to Albert and Anna Jira. Patricia met the love of her life, Dominick Del Vecchio, while ice-skating in Central Park and in June of 1959, they married; together they raised four wonderful daughters. Patricia leaves behind a legacy of love and faithfulness and her values are forever instilled in her daughters.
She will be sorely missed by her loving daughters, Laura (Kevin) Doyle, Donna (Seth) Brandow, Rose (Pete) Carbocci, and Brenda (Anthony) DeBellis. Patricia also leaves behind her six cherished grandchildren, Nick and Gregg Doyle, Ross Brandow, Olivia (Josh) Newcombe, Dan (Ashley) Janke, and Scott (Taylor) Janke as well as three treasured great-grandchildren, Sienna, Cameron, Emma, and a fourth on the way. Her dear sister Dorothy Novotny will continue to honor her memory.
Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Dominick, and her sister Carol Mancuso.
Patricia's caring nature found a professional outlet as a school nurse's assistant at George Fisher Middle School where she made lifelong friends.
Her commitment to her community was evident through her active involvement with Saint James the Apostle Church and her generous support of various charities. Patricia's faith was a cornerstone of her life, being a participating member of the Altar Rosary Society and Columbiettes.
Patricia took delight in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed playing poker and bingo and found excitement in the simple joy of scratch-off tickets. Cherished pastimes included sharing dances with Dominick, doing the jumble, and feeding the crows because they were dedicated family birds. Christmas was a special time for Patricia, a season that symbolized the unity and love she fostered within her family. Her big garden salad and classic potatoes on the half shell were her signature dishes, and her joy was complete when surrounded by her loved ones.
All services will be private, Patricia's family is grateful for all the love and support during this difficult time. The family would like to thank the Regional Hospice of Danbury and the dedicated staff at the Maplewood Assisted Living facility for the exceptional care of their mother.
