Patricia Marie "Clayton" Dentinger slipped away quietly and peacefully during the night on Sunday, November 30th. Though deeply saddened, her family rejoices that she is home with our Heavenly Father.
Patricia was a devoted wife, mother and Mimi. She basked in the joy of being a grandmother to Abby and Meghan, who were truly the lights of her life. Every day at Mimi's was a day for creating, whether it be baking, tea parties or building fairy gardens on her and "Poppy's" beautiful property.
She loved visiting her son's home for his fancy homemade meals and enjoying family time with Jasmine, Madison, Myles and sweet Aviana. Patricia took advantage of relaxing days by the family's pool.
Patricia was a creative spirit in so many ways. For 55 years she was a talented hairstylist to so many. She was a wonderful cook, gardener and a woman full of creativity.
Throughout her lifetime, Patricia, displayed a servant's heart as well. As her family and clients passed on, she would do their hair one final time. It wasn't an easy job but one she felt called to. For several years, Patricia served at the Mattingly Cerebral Palsy Center at its old location on Newburg Road. There she would serve in many capacities, especially offering her hairstylist talents. It brought her joy and purpose to pamper the clients in those special ways. She developed a strong bond with one particular client, Patrick. After Patrick lost his mother to cancer, Patricia became more of a maternal presence and advocate for him. Her family will remember her as loving, resilient and quietly fierce. Patricia overcame so many of life's hardships with strength and grace.
Left to cherish Patricia's memory is her loving husband of 53 years, Gary Dentinger, who faithfully supported and cared for her throughout her courageous battle with cancer. She is also survived by her children: Ellie (Kevin), Eric (Jasmine) Grandchildren: Abby and Meghan Step-grandchildren: Madison and Myles Step-great-granddaughter: Aviana. Patricia also leaves behind her beloved and only sibling, sister, Barbara Rowland.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents: George F. Clayton and Thelma R. Clayton.
Visitation will be from 3-7 PM on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at Bosse Funeral Home, 1355 Ellison at Barret Avenues. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 1520 Hepburn at Baxter Avenues. Inurnment will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery.
The family extends a heartfelt thanks to the Hosparus team for their compassionate care during Patricia's final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hosparus.
