Dear Jim - or as I always knew you. James. I was saddened to read on Facebook of Patty's passing. As you will remember, Patty and I were friends early in life as we worshipped the Lord at Kirkwood Baptist Church in Atlanta. You, Patty, my first husband, Ricky and I double-dated and had the U S Army not taken Ricky and me away to California in 1967, we would most likely been in each other's weddings. I loved being Patty's friend through the years and was blessed to still be in touch through social media. I am so very sorry for your loss, but rejoice with you and your family in knowing that she is now in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ricky and I were divorced in 1980 and I was remarried to Charles Brown. We were married just one month shy of 43 years when, 18 months ago, the Lord took him to his eternal home so I share in grieving the loss of a spouse. My love, thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

I met Patty at a Tuesday morning Bible study at First Baptist Church. She welcomed me with a warm heart and sweet smile. Even though I have known her for less than a year, I received a beautiful Mother“s Day card from her with a sweet note written inside. Patty radiated the love of Jesus and will certainly be missed by all who knew her whether for a number of years or for just a short while.
