Patricia was born September 26,1931 in Rockford IL, the daughter of Monroe Daniel and Ida Leona (Larson) Johnson. Patricia was a graduate of Monroe Center High school, Class of 1948.
Patricia married Norman Keith Dodd on December 19,1949, they were together until his death in 1985.
Patricia was a member of the Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Decatur IL. She was a catcher for the softball team called the “Dodd Team” who once played a warm up game prior to the famous Rockford Peaches. She also pursued a modeling career in 1949 in which she was quite successful. Patricia then focused on raising her family and supporting her husband in his business journey as owner and operator of Decatur Automatic Co. located in Warrensburg IL. She loved her husband, children and grandchildren very much and will be deeply missed by all the lives she touched over the years. She was a kind, gentle soul who found a passion for interior design putting new life into all her projects. Her favorite thing was Friday night, date night with the love of her life and tearing up the dance floor after dinner at the Moose Club in Decatur IL. All eyes were on them as they glided across the floor with grace not missing a beat.
Surviving are daughters Gloria S. Parton & Tamari L. Crosier, grandchildren Stephanie (Warren) Hale, Stacey Wenskunas, Melissa (Shane) Lourash, Danniél (Daniel) Wentworth, Angie (Kevin) Ames, Nicholas Dodd, Shane Parton, Tom (Sue) Parton, and grandson in law Chad Blackwell. Siblings Shirley (Jim) Erboe, Carol Strang, Vernon Johnson, Johnny Johnson & Tommy (Kathy) Johnson. Sister in-laws Carolyn Johnson, Shirley Johnson, Margaret (Peggy) Case, Neva Dodd. Brother in-laws Floyd Stephens, Gerald (Kathy) Dodd & Dave Thompson. Numerous great grand children, nieces, nephews and siblings.
Patricia was proceeded in death by her parents, In-laws Willis A. and Ester W. Dodd, Son Larry K. Dodd, grand daughter’s Heather D. Martin and Amber R. Blackwell, son in law Mike Parton. Sister’s: Beatrice (Robert) Johnson, Joyce Stephens, Doris Noble, Susan Gable; brother’s Robert (Dorothy) Johnson, William (Betty) Johnson, Eugene (Donna) Johnson, LeRoy (Anne) Johnson. Sister in-laws: Carolyn Johnson, Kay Rippentrop, Donna (Dwight) Lawson, Rae Krause, Patricia (Spencer) Jensen. Brother In-laws Willis Dodd, Jr., Ernie Smith, Richard “Dick” Case.
Graveside services will be at Noon on Saturday April 18, 2026 at the New Milford Cemetery, 2685 New Milford School Rd, New Milford IL 61109.
Lunch will be served at the Eagles Club, 3829 11th St , Rockford IL 61109 following the service.
