Patricia Lou Driesenga peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, January 10, 2026. She was 88 years old.

Pat was born on March 1, 1937, to Al and Laura McCarthy in Holland, Michigan. She spent a happy childhood in Holland and Zeeland. She met the love of her life, Merle, and they married shortly thereafter. By his side, she raised two daughters, Tracey and Kelli, in the house on 22nd street. Pat spent 20 years working part-time at the Tulip Time office rigorously keeping track of ticket orders. Pat and Merle installed an in-ground pool in their backyard with the help of their dear friends, George and Mary Ann Kalman, creating a beautiful oasis right there in the center of the city. With her flowered swim bonnet and ever-present nose plugs, she could be seen on a pool float most summer days.

Pat will best be remembered with her head thrown back in laughter enjoying the company of her family and friends.Possessed with quick wit and undeniable warmth, Pat washilarious, supportive and an absolute joy to talk to. She forged unbreakable bonds with her girls, grandkids and many, manyfriends. She was an avid tennis player, prodigious reader, dog lover, and mahjong enthusiast.

Pat is survived by her two daughters, Tracey McKnight (Jim McKnight) and Kelli Shinabarger (Steve Shinabarger). A loving grandmother, she leaves behind four grandchildren: Kyle Shinabarger, Ryan McKnight, Kaitie Kiefer, and Mallory McKnight. She was also a beloved great-grandmother to tengreat-grandchildren: Eli Shinabarger, Emmie Shinabarger, Roland Shinabarger, Lainey Shinabarger, Reagan McKnight, Auggie McKnight, Gavin Kiefer, Hailyn Kiefer, Lennyn Kiefer, and Lawson Kiefer.

Services will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church on Monday, January 19. Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. You are invited to join us at Boatwerks for a Celebration of Life immediately following the service. Memorial Contributions may be made to LifeCircles PACE Program, Resthaven, or Evergreen Commons.
