Patricia Jane Ervin, 90, Sweetser, passed away at 8:01 pm on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Colonial Oaks Health & Rehabilitation Center in Marion.
She was born in Yonkers, New York, on Sunday, June 26, 1932, to Arnold Bennett and Gretta Irene (Barrett) Carter. On June 6, 1951, she married Robert Wesley Ervin, who preceded her in death.
Patricia graduated from St. Paul Catholic School and was a homemaker throughout her life. She was a very fun-loving, family-oriented, feisty, and honest woman. She was a lover of God and prayed daily the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, "Jesus, I Trust in You". She loved her family and neighbors. Patricia also loved to cook and bake, and especially loved her sweets and ice cream. One of her greatest joys was watching her grandchildren's sporting events. She had many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly, and she also loved to help care for her great-nieces and nephews. She was always there for family. Even into her 90s, she was self-sufficient and still living in her own home.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Arthur of Swayzee; son-in-law, Ted Tobias of Sweetser; sister, Rita Ormbsy of MI; granddaughters, Lindsay (Ryan) Hulet, Tiffany (Michael) Huffman, Jessica (Nakoa) Scott, Miranda (Tyler) Keith, and Lacey (Ryne) Brown; grandsons, Bradley (Brooke) Arthur, Tyler (Courtney) Tobias, and Carter (fiancée Alyssa) Tobias; great-granddaughters, Emma, Lucille, Rose, Ava, and Hannah; and great-grandsons, Griffin, Nicholas, Nolan, Camdyn, Brody, Brayd, Tanner, Colemann, and Knox.

My deepest condolences to the family! Pat was such a wonderful woman, and was loved by all who knew her. She was a second mom to me growing up, and was always a good listener with lots of good advice and patience with our teenage girl antics! Praying for peace for the family and sending extra hugs and love their way. She will be deeply missed.

Pat was like a mom to me. I spent so many nights at their loving home when I was young. I remember her cinnamon rollls for breakfast. If it was Sunday you better be ready to go to mass which I did many times. Always Vogels donuts after mass. She will be missed at Joanns with her crafty ideas all the time. I loved her dearly .
