Patricia A. Flemming

Patricia A. Flemming, 86, of Macungie, formerly of Allentown, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023. Born Patricia Anne Cerzullo in Steelton, PA, she was the daughter of Angelina (Leone) Cerzullo and Frank J. Cerzullo. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert C. Flemming for 61 years.

A graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School in Harrisburg, PA, she met her future husband at Olmsted Air Force Base in Middleton where she worked as a secretary, and he served as an officer. They were married at the base chapel in 1959. Through several moves, from New Jersey to Florida and back again, "Pat" made a loving home for their growing family.

Pat was a tireless contributor, dedicating her time and expertise to her local and professional communities. A founding member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Allentown, she volunteered on numerous initiatives and programs for the parish and the diocese, including serving with her husband as the Diocesan Coordinator of Marriage Encounter, and as a long-time associate of the School Sisters of St. Francis.

At the age of 52, Pat pursued her entrepreneurial interest and started a temporary secretarial service. Her mission was to help women who had stayed home to raise their families gain opportunities to re-enter the professional workforce. That original business, which later became Integrity Personnel, Inc., helped thousands of women (and men) land new jobs and develop their careers in multiple professions.

Pat was passionate about serving people who needed a helping hand to gain independence. Through both her personal involvement, as well as her business resources, she provided long-lasting support to several for-cause organizations including the National MS Society, The Literacy Center, the Allentown Rescue Mission, and the St. Francis Center for Renewal.

She was a highly attentive and caring leader, viewed by her company's employees and fellow business owners as a trusted advocate for healthy and supportive work environments. Her contributions to workforce development were recognized in 1998, when she was named one of Pennsylvania's Best Women in Business by the governor. Pat retired from running day-to-day operations in 2003 and the company she founded marked its 36th year in business at the time of her passing.

She was predeceased by her husband; brother, Frank Cerzullo, Jr.; and her grandsons, Maxwell S. Casillas and Blas Alexander Guillen. She is survived by her sister, Sandra Cerzullo; daughters, Colleen M. Harris and Sandra L. Casillas; sons, Robert C. Flemming Jr., Daniel J. Flemming, and Kevin F. Flemming; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 11 A.M. in St. Thomas More Catholic Church 1040 Flexer Ave. Allentown.
