Patricia Goebel Glass, 88, of Loudon, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022.
Pat was a dedicated member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She retired from Loudon County Schools after working in the high school cafeteria for 22 years. Pat enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, with her favorite being roses. More than growing her flowers, she enjoyed sharing her flowers and cuttings with others, which allowed Pat to spread joy and beauty. She often bragged that her flowers were blooming from Ohio to Louisiana and as far west as Nebraska.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Ellis and Sallye (Henderson) Goebel; husband, Carl Glass; son, Jeff Glass; and brother, Ed Goebel.
She is survived by her devoted son, Jerry Glass; granddaughter, Reva Schoenherr; great-grandson, Ezra Schoenherr; sister, Joan Wicker; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Wanda Franks, Wilma Giles and Doug Brown.
The family would like to thank their neighbors, Bob and Cindy Culver, Lisa Johnson, Evie Bishop and Missy Gryder, who have become like family, for the love and care they have shown Pat during her illness.
A graveside service to honor and remember Pat was held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, in Mt. Zion Cemetery with the Rev. Dwayne Leming officiating. The family received friends 1-3 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at McGill Click Funerals & Cremations, 1366 Highway 72 N, Loudon.
