Patricia Snead Graybeal

Abingdon, VA – Patricia Snead Graybeal, age 81, passed on Wednesday, May 1, 2024.  Pat was born in 1942 to the late Clarence and Nannie Blevins Snead, the youngest of five children.  She lived most of her life in Abingdon and was a 1961 Graduate of Abingdon High School.  

Pat was a service representative with the telephone company for 30 years and was a life member of the Washington County Life Saving Crew Auxiliary, where she served her community for over 50 years.  She attended Greendale Chapel and enjoyed Bible study with her friends until her health declined.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Claude Graybeal; son, James Graybeal; brothers, Malcom Snead and Herman Snead; sister, Gay Repass; and niece, Ginger Gibbs.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Lisa Bolling and husband Frank; grandson, Jacob Bolling; granddaughter, Hannah Brewer; sister, Gloria Stroup and husband James; three very special sisters-in-law who were more like sisters, Mary (Jerry) Leonard, Marcella (Johnny) Caudill, and Avil (Roy) Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024, in Knollkreg Memorial Park with Rev. Jerry Eggers officiating. Pallbearers will be Jacob Bolling, Jim Fogleman, Lorne Graybeal, Brandon Brewer, Tommy Castle, and Dennis Yokum.   Honorary pallbearers will be Nick Snead, Rick Roark, Blake Roark, Kevin Turley, and Evan Gilliam.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the entire staff of Crown Cypress Assisted Living in Kingsport.  Everyone there loved and cared for Pat.  They became family and she loved them very much.
