Patricia Ann Hacker, 83, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at The Cottage Grove Place in Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life gathering will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Monday, July 1, 2024, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
Patricia was born on September 26, 1940, in rural Washington County, Iowa, the daughter of Russell and Mary (Nicholson) Skinner. She graduated from Westchester High School, class of 1959, and later earned a CNA degree from Kirkwood College. Patricia was united in marriage to Otto Hacker on April 2, 1965. She worked in health care for many years. Patricia enjoyed watching and feeding wildlife, crocheting, sewing, occasionally visiting casinos, and most of all spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.
Patricia is survived by her children Greg Hacker, Karla (Doug) Johnson, and Kathy (Torbin) Haugen; her grandchildren Brent Hacker, Hailie Hacker, Alyssa Johnson (Jake Gorvin), Britani Hacker, Hannah Johnson (Christian Vazquez), Joshua Johnson, Akira Haugen, Cloie Johnson and Reagen Johnson; two great-grandchildren Penelope and Scarlett Gorvin and one on the way.
Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Otto and her brother Stan Skinner.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
