In Loving Memory of Patty Henry
Patricia “Patty” Henry, 74 of Kettering, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025, peacefully at her home. She was born on February 16, 1951, in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of David and Dorothy Nuttall.
She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Dorothy Nuttall, her brothers Lou and Larry Nuttall.
Patty is survived by her loving husband and lifelong best friend, Steve Henry; they have one devoted son, David Henry, two beautiful grandchildren, Madison and Corbin; and is also survived by numerous family and friends.
She graduated from Fairmont East High School in 1969, Patty began working for Winters Bank in 1969 and continued through all the changes with that company over the span 44 years, ending with General Electric as Project Manager, IT; she also attended Urbana University while working for GE and graduated in 2008, Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management; she volunteered as an active member of VFW Post 9927, was acting currently as treasurer but previously was the President, and a member of the Colour Guard, and the Auxiliary; Patty was also a Charter member of the Amvets, as well as past President; she donated blood regularly to the American Red Cross and was a Champion Donor; she was the Eastern Regional President of The Foresters organization and has under the prior Foresters Fraternal organization, she served in every elected office and organized numerous events for both members and community. Under the new organization, she served as Branch President and then two years ago was elected to the Regional Council; she was also a member to various community organizations such as American Legion, Moose and the Eagles.
Patty enjoyed volunteering in the community, traveling the world with Steve, playing golf, and spending time with her family and friends, she could often be found at the VFW. She was full of life and energy and loved to be on the go. Patty was a busy woman who never had the patience to sit still, and she loved reading, gardening, walking and just enjoyed life in general. The most important thing to Patty was family, spending time traveling with Steve, visiting her son, David and grandchildren, Madison and Corbin. She is loved by all who met her and will be deeply missed.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post 9927 or the American Red Cross in Patty Henry’s memory.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Newcomer Funeral Home-South Chapel located at 3940 Kettering Blvd. Kettering, Ohio 45439. Funeral Service will be officiated by Pastor Jim Martin at 5:00 p.m.
