Patricia “Pat” Howell
Patricia “Pat” Crawford Howell, 80, of Waynesville passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Kate Medford Crawford. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Jean Palmer; brother, Don Crawford; and stepdaughter, Deni Sutton.
Pat spent 34 years working for the Haywood County School system as a bookkeeper in child nutrition before she retired in 2009. After retirement, Pat worked part time as a greeter at Wells Funeral Home. She enjoyed hiking, volunteering, and exercising. Pat was an active and valued member of Antioch Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Katy Howell Oh (David); two stepsons, Garry Howell, and Blake Howell; sister-in-Law, Sybil Crawford; niece, Pam Noland; nephew, Bert Palmer; two grandchildren, Vivian Oh Sprouse (Jonathan), and Ethan Oh; great-grandson Jonah Oh; and several step grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Antioch Baptist Church with Pastor Josh Blight officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery Fund: Antioch Baptist Church 542 Iron Duff Road, Waynesville, NC 28785.
