Patricia Lloyd Hildebrand Jencks, 90, of Surry, ME died peacefully Friday July 25, 2025, after a several month illness. She was the daughter of the late Ernest Seeley Hildebrand and Dora Loweree Hildebrand. She was born on March 23, 1935, in Hartford, CT. and attended the University of Connecticut.

Pat leaves behind son Gregory C. Jencks of Glastonbury, CT., son Charles E. Jencks (Paula) of Falling Waters, WV, and daughter Sarah Jencks Pratt (Paul) of Calais, ME.; three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She took much pleasure in her family, and in her many friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles L. Jencks, as well as sister Inez Hildebrand Robotham of Suffield, CT., brother Ernest S. Hildebrand of Brooklin, ME and brother Arthur S. Hildebrand of Schererville, IN.

Pat and Charlie were long time residents of Surry, after leaving Connecticut for Maine upon retirement. Pat was particularly active in the local community, serving over the years in various civic positions including the Surry School Board, as a Ballot Clerk during elections, on the Planning Board and as a member of the Comprehensive Plan Committee in both 2014 and 2024. She was a member of the Surry Community Improvement Association. She was one of the original volunteers for the area Medic Alert system, a member of the Surry Historical Society and of the Surry Garden Club. A quiltmaker herself, for many years she helped register quilts for the Blue Hill Fair and judged the knitting entries. She volunteered at the Turnstyle and Tree of Life in Blue Hill. She was a member of the former Ladies' Day Circle of the First Congregational Church of Blue Hill, contributing many needlework projects to their fundraising activities. She was part of the Surry Backpack Project, which provides school supplies and food to students at the Surry School. She also enjoyed social gatherings and outings with her many friends and played Bridge and Mah Jong regularly. In 2018, she received the Spirit of America Award for "commendable community service."

A memorial service will be held on October 18, 2025, at 1:00PM at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, ME. Condolences may be sent directly to 707 Newbury Neck Rd. Surry, ME 04684. No flowers please. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Surry Backpack Project, Surry Town Office, 741 North Bend Road, 04684, or The Tree of Life, P.O. Box 1329, Blue Hill, ME 04614.

Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford, CT.
