Patricia Jane Jones was born September 26, 1945 in San Jose, California to parents Dennis Benjamin Jones and Fern Etta (VanCleave) Jones. She was the youngest of 4 children and graduated from Escalon High School in 1963. Pat worked for the State Board of Equalization as a tax collector for the entirety of her career, retiring after 37 years of service. She was a valued member of Soroptimist International serving in several leadership positions both locally and statewide.
Pat passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025 in Modesto, California. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jay Jones and Paul Jones, and her sister and brother in law Marjorie and Gerald Vieths. She was also preceded in death by her great niece Emily Cascia.
She is survived by her nieces Julie Cascia (Roderick) of Denair, California, and Jill Barfield (Kurtis) of Modesto, California, sister in law Marian Jones (Jay) and many great nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
A memorial will be held in her honor at 11 am, Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Deegan Funeral Home, Escalon, California. A reception will be held immediately after. All are welcome to attend. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Soroptimist International Modesto North (SIMN) and mailed to PO Box 3554, Modesto, CA, 95352 for a scholarship program in Pat's honor.

My family moved to a ranch on Dodds Road in 1950, just a short distance from the Jones family. They were our closest neighbors. As a child, I rode my bike to their house to play with Margie and Paul, and Patty was just a cute little girl at the time. Margie, Paul and I attended Lone Tree Elementary together, and Paul and I graduated from Escalon High in the same class. He was one of my very best friends, and we kept in touch until his death. Patty was kind enough to keep me apprised of Paul's condition towards the end. I was very surprised to hear of her passing. I loved the Jones family and have many happy memories connected to those years. Heartfelt wishes to her neices and nephews. There is comfort knowing Patty is safely home now with her parents and siblings, and there was no doubt a great reunion.
