Patricia Knezevich Obituary

Patricia Ann Corrick Knezevich, born March 11, 1933, in Bloomer, Wis.; daughter of Donald Edward and Hazel Bell Corrick, died at home on Oct. 31, 2023.

Pat was raised in Oswego, Ill., and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. She was stationed in Tokyo, Japan. It was in Japan where she met the love of her life, Nick Knezevich, who also served in the Air Force. They were married and had four children. They lived in Pittsburg, Pa., Milwaukee, Wis.; Kalamazoo, Mich.; Oswego and Coal Valley, Ill.; Louisville, Ky.; and most recently, Lancaster, S.C.

Pat lost Nick after 39 years of marriage. His life may have ended, but their relationship never did.

Pat was a strong Christian. She had many accomplishments, which comprised being a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother; cheerleader for her four children; friend; Scout leader; artist; volunteer at an orphanage; Sunday school teacher well into her 70s; caregiver; yoga instructor; preschool teacher; camp counselor for Paul Newman's Double H Ranch, which served children with life-threatening diseases; and she rescued and raised 16 dogs and nine cats over her adult life.

Pat is survived by her four children, Rick Knezevich (Dorothy), Mike Knezevich (Leisha), Tammy Woods (Ron) and Docia McCool (Bill); six grandsons, Phillip Knezevich, James Knezevich, Nick Knezevich, William McCool, Wesley McCool and Joe McCool; three great-grandchildren, Jameson Knezevich, Camden McCool and Taylor McCool.

Pat's parents; brothers, Bill and Donnie Corrick; along with her husband, preceded her in death.

Summarizing a life well lived to 300 words does not do justice to Pat Knezevich. She was beautiful, funny, witty, tough, strong, loud, giving, kind and faithful.

Pat Knezevich will be laid to rest at Resthaven in Louisville.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Paws in the Panhandle (animal rescue) in Lancaster, www.pawsinthepanhandle.com.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the caregivers, Paulette Thomas and Sandy Covington, who assisted Pat until her passing. Also special thanks to Hospice of Lancaster's nurses and chaplain.
