Patricia Ann Garofalo Lindsay, 83, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, from the cruelty of Parkinson's disease and dementia. When those of you who knew her read this, if you listen carefully, you can hear her happy giggle and infectious laugh.
She was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on March 18, 1942, and moved to
Roanoke, VA from Washington, DC in 1973.
Pat worked at the Library of Congress for several years after graduating high school. Pat was parish secretary at St. John's Episcopal Church in
Roanoke, VA for 30 years. She loved St. John's and the many friends she made there through the years. She loved Ruby Harlow with whom she worked at St. Johns for many years.
She enjoyed exercising, antiquing, pottery, dancing, the beach, traveling, cooking and fine dining, and especially the many years and memories at her daughter's Phelps' Farm. Everyone there called her "Grandmom." She prized every moment being there with Julie's dogs, her two grandsons and their many lifelong friends as they grew up.
Pat especially loved her friend, Lois Dunbar and the many memorable weeks spent at the Greenbrier Resort with Melissa Boone, Heather Dunbar and her daughter, Julie Phelps.
Throughout her life she carried the values of faith, love and family. She truly loved her lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 62 years, Ronald Lindsay, her daughter Julie Phelps, her cherished grandsons, Joseph Phelps and his wife Jordan Phelps, Benjamin Phelps and his fiancée, Summer Turner, her brother Matthew Garofalo, and her brother in law, Joseph O'Donnell, her sisters in law, Betty Lindsay, Janice Garofalo, Thelma Garofalo and her many other loving in-laws, nieces and nephews.
