Patricia Harkins Locke

Pat was born on October 14, 1934, in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Marcella Marie McCarthy Harkins and Patrick Joseph Harkins. She was proficient in piano, competing at the state level as a young person. She graduated from Matignon High School in Cambridge, Massachusetts and worked as a secretary in a travel agency until starting her family.

Pat was a mother to Kathleen (James) Bianculli, Edward (Linda Constantine) Allwein, Denise (James) Ferrand, Phyllis (Earl) McWhorter and Robert (Prudence) Allwein. She was a grandmother to Andrea (Corey) Hall, Diana (Mohamad) Abdallah, Jacob McWhorter, Kelsey (Andrew) Robitaille, Zack McWhorter, Dana Ferrand, Averie Allwein and Logan Allwein. She was a great-grandmother to Giavanna Hall, Vincent Abdallah, Ayden and Carleigh McWhorter, and Maren and Scarlett Robitaille. She was a sister to the late Anne (Harry) Jackson and an aunt to the late Lawrence Jackson. She also shared many wonderful experiences with her dearest friend, Joyce Ross.

Pat married the late Clare Darwin Locke in 1983 in Texas, before returning to Michigan. She continued her career working in various positions in office administration. She retired in 1999 and returned to Texas. She moved back to Michigan in 2021.

Pat was an avid reader and enjoyed playing Canasta and Mah-jong as well as traveling with family and friends. She volunteered for Readings for the Blind and delivered Meals on Wheels in both Michigan and Texas.

A private memorial service will be held for the family.
