Patricia Ann Lodge, 90, previously from Carmi, IL, passed away at the home of her son, Gary Lodge and family, Franklin, NC, on March 11, 2025. Pat was born on July 22, 1934, in Springerton, IL, to the late Henry and Beatrice Thomas. Pat married Vernon A. Lodge. The couple welcomed two sons, Arthur A. and Gary W. Lodge.
Pat was a homemaker and lifelong resident of Carmi, IL. She pursued a career path as a CNA Trainer; a vocation, she was honored to be involved with and greatly enjoyed. Skilled in knitting, Pat gifted her family and friends with handcrafted items cherished for their usefulness and artistry. She was an avid reader, and her love of books were the catalyst for her connection and development of a “special relationship” with the Carmi Public Library
Pat will be remembered by friends; especially her neighbor and constant source of help, care and companionship, Judy Merritt. Pat’s last wish was to relocate to North Carolina and live surrounded by her loving and supportive son, Gary, and his family. Her last wish was fulfilled with support of family, friends and caregivers. The family is grateful to Hospice of Southern Illinois and Four Seasons Hospice of Western North Carolina for their assistance and support.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her two sons, Arthur Lodge of Anna, IL and Gary Lodge of Franklin, NC, Gary’s wife, Vickie, and step-granddaughter, Amanda Harrell. She was also survived by her grandson, Ryan, Mt. Vernon, IN and her granddaughter, Katie Cortes of Ocala, FL and her great-grandson, Javier Cortes.
Pat will be laid to rest with family at Enfield Cemetery at a later date. In the hearts of those who loved her, she remains.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions honoring Pat be made to Carmi Public Library at 103 Slocumb St., Carmi, IL 62821 and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home, 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821 who is assisting with local arrangements.
