Patricia Luckett Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Canale Funeral Directors - Memphis on Feb. 5, 2026.
Patricia Ann Luckett (Houston, McClusky, Edmiston) passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026. Patricia was a beloved Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, family member and friend.

Born on September 9, 1946, Patricia was a woman of deep faith and a heart committed to serving the Lord by serving others. Patricia was a devout Catholic who lived her faith daily and with great devotion. As a former parish religious educator and food pantry volunteer, she served her church and fellow parishioners with dedication and devotion. She was the embodiment of kindness and love. Her faith sustained her, shaped her, guided her, brought her great joy and comforted her. She may be one of the purest examples of God's love on this earth to all who knew her heart.

She spent more than two decades advocating for child welfare, offering her protection and providing her guidance to countless families through her role with the Department of Human Services.

Patricia loved her family with ferocity and gave unselfishly of her time, wisdom and love. She never failed to give praise and ensure her love was felt. She was a teacher, a listener and a source of unconditional love. Her reassuring presence, fun-loving spirit, incredible sense of humor and quick wit will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

Patricia is preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Sullivan, brothers Alan and Barry Sullivan, son Stephen Houston, grandson Alton Houston and husband Olney "Buddy" Edmiston. She is survived by her brother Brooks Sullivan (Debbie), sister Lorna McClusky, daughter Trisha Russell, sons Chris Houston (Tracy), Brian Houston (Heather), Tony McClusky (Angela) and Ben Edmiston (Katerina), 14 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and countless extended family and friends.

Patricia leaves a legacy of compassion, faith and service that will live on in the lives of those she touched. The family requests donations in Patricia's name be made to First Candle, Birthright of Memphis, The Society of Saint Vincent DePaul, or St. Michael Catholic Church.

Visitation will be Monday February 9, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM followed by the Rosary at 7:00 PM Canale Funeral Directors. The Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday February 10, at 10:00 AM at St. Michael Catholic Church. Burial to follow Calvary Cemetery.
