Patricia Ann MacDonald, age 71 of Greenville, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025 under the loving care of her family and Spectrum Health Hospice at her home. The daughter of William & Marianne Cardinel, she was born on March 15, 1954 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
On July 24, 1971, in Grand Rapids, she married Michael Lee MacDonald and together they raised three children and enjoyed 54 years of marriage. Patti also worked outside the home in the bakery, and later the grocery department, at Meijer in Greenville.
Patti became her children’s and grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader, delighting in attending their school music and sporting events. She also enjoyed raising and caring for her pets, feeding the birds, camping, playing corn hole, singing karaoke, playing bingo, and just making a beautiful, welcoming home. She was a selfless, giving, loving, entertaining woman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Larry; and half-sister, Rose Marie; and siblings-in-law, Robert MacDonald, Diana Andres, Bonnie Cardinel, Sandy MacDonald and Steve MacDonald.
Surviving are her husband, Michael L. MacDonald, Sr.; their children, Mike MacDonald of Greenville, Stephanie & Richard Rectenwal of Greenville, and Ian & Ellie MacDonald of Fenwick; grandchildren, Chelsie & Albert Gesierich, Lexi Rectenwal, Trenton Rectenwal, Boden MacDonald, Wyatt MacDonald, Chase MacDonald; her sisters and brothers, Marie & Edward Bernatowicz, Will Cardinel, DeeDee Ebels, Joe & Donna Cardinel; siblings-in-law, Sherry & Dan Darling, Rod & Liz MacDonald, Brian & Laurie MacDonald, Patrick & Lynne MacDonald, Pamela MacDonald, Greg & Cheryl MacDonald, and Roger Andres; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family and friends is from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Christiansen’s Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care, 511 S. Franklin Street, Greenville, with a sharing of memories concluding the evening’s events at 8:00 p.m.
