Patricia Madsen Obituary

Patricia Madsen

1953 ~ 2023

- Patricia Jackson Madsen, 69, passed away peacefully in her home on January 28th, surrounded by loved ones after a difficult fight with cancer. She is survived by her husband (Kent), her 2 children (Dane and Erika), her step daughters (Holly and Heather), her 3 siblings (Mike, Tim, and Robin) and her many grandchildren.

Trish was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and will be remembered for her unwavering faith and love for Jesus Christ and her family.

Born on May 21st, 1953, in Concord, California, Trish was an adventurous and brave child. She was known to be daring, even from a young age, and gave her mother (Jackie) a run for her money with her famous tantrums (a cold shower usually did the trick). As she grew, she was a cheerleader, waitress, model, beauty queen, and so much more over the years. She was known for having many friends and was always a good influence on them, which ended up being a pattern throughout the rest of her life.

After graduating from Brigham Young University with her Bachelors and Masters in Education Administration, she began work in the employee recognition industry. Trish knew the value of hard work and spent much of her time with OC Tanner, and most recently with Awardco, where she considered her colleagues as family and they all saw her as "Mama Trish".

Though she loved her work, she loved her family more. Trish and Kent were married August 8th, 1990, and started their beautiful life together. With two step-daughters, a son, and a daughter, she always made sure everyone around her was cared for and loved. Between beauty pageants, sports, performances, and so many other activities, she was there to love and support the kids. Trish eventually lived out her dream and was sealed to her family in the Salt Lake City Temple in 2008. Her love and devotion over the years allowed her to be seen as a beloved mother, grandma, favorite aunt, and friend.

Trish's life was a bright example of love, compassion and dedication. Her sweet soul cared for others and served as a mother-figure to so many. Her presence was a light to us all and she will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held for Trish on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 1:00 pm - Location: 4366 South 1500 East Millcreek, Utah.

*Memorial service only - there will be no viewing or graveside service.

I have such fond memories of Trish beginning at BYU in `73. She was such a good friend. Once we got to Salt Lake we had a wonderful group of women who supported one another through those single years. There were many fun memories from our singles wards including putting on a big singles conference at Snowbird. She sat at my book at my wedding and remained just as beautiful as she got older. We shared times as we had children and supported one another through the challenges of life. She was so strong and full of energy and had a joy for life. I admired Trish so much and wanted to be like her. We treasured the rare times we could get together these past few years. Heaven gained a powerful angel who will take on her next assignment with full commitment and love. I Love you Trish.

Many fun, fond lasting memories with Trish at BYU and beyond. Loved her laugh and twinkle in her eye. Her ability to open her heart to all is one of her enduring qualities. Sending love to Kent and their entire extended family.

I admire her so much, and love her so dearly. I have so many treasured memories with her. Her contagious laugh... her bright mind... her skill as a communicator... she is just remarkable!
