Patricia V. Marcheterre

Patricia V. Marcheterre, 88 of Beverly, passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 23, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 23, 1937 and raised in Beverly. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Ada (Fox) Furnari. She was the beloved wife of Benjamin J. Marcheterre.
While being a stay-at-home mom she also took on the role of being the librarian at the Cove School while her kids were growing up. After all the kids had graduated, she went to work at Gordon College where she ran the deli for over 40 years. She made endless sandwiches for students from around the world, many of which considered her a mother away from home. She built lifelong friendships with her coworkers.
Through the years she spent much of her spare time baking, knitting, crocheting, caning, sewing and wallpapering. Give her a paintbrush and a can of paint and everything will be that color! She also enjoyed ceramics and the North Shore Music Theater. But her pride and joy was her garden. She spent hours upon hours tending to the flowers. Over the years many children enjoyed running around in her "Secret Garden" and taking a dip in the pool. Pat never turned down an opportunity for an ice cream and a turkey sandwich!
She was a wonderful, caring mother, grandmother and auntie who enjoyed spending time with her family.
Patricia is survived by her daughter, Leanne Barry of Beverly, her son, Jeffrey Marcheterre of Beverly, four grandchildren, Rachel Barry, Sofia Marcheterre, Michael Marcheterre Jr. and Melissa Marcheterre, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Michael Marcheterre Sr.
Her funeral service will be at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Thursday, January 30th at 12pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours prior to the service from 10am to 12pm. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Beverly. Contributions may be made in Patricia's memory to the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
