Patricia Massey Obituary

Patricia Lea Massey of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed to her eternal resting place on the afternoon of Thursday, November 20, at the young age of 64.

Patricia was born April 5, 1961, in Mansfield, Missouri, to Doyle Keith and Lora Mae Massey. Patricia was the youngest daughter and the fourth of seven children. Patricia's family later moved to the small rural town of Dora, Missouri. There she attended school and later graduated from Dora High with the Class of 1979.

After high school Patricia married her then husband, David, and moved to Bartlesville, where they raised their small family, one daughter, Chasity, and one son, Garret. Patricia was employed with the Ritz cleaners for 17 years as a manager, before becoming a manager for the next 4 years for a local restaurant chain.

By this time, her two children were grown and she a little later met her soul mate, and lifelong partner, Michael Moore. Patricia was set to hit the road and travel with Michael and his work for a few years before returning to Bartlesville where they then settled back down. Patricia was now a homemaker and fulfilling her favorite role of being a nana to her five grandchildren and later her additional three great-grandchildren. She was now back in her element, at home nurturing her family. She was the mom, nana and wife who made all the Sunday dinners, or mid-week dinners, happen to ensure her family was all back under one roof, even if it was for a brief moment. She made the daily or weekly calls and texts, as well, just to check in and make sure everyone was doing okay. She was the family's loudest cheerleader. No matter where she was at in her own life, she made sure her family came first. Her children and grandchildren were her life, and she made sure they all knew how much she loved them, and they all knew without a doubt that she was there for them no matter what.

Outside of family, Patricia found joy in reading books. She could start a new book in the morning and have it read before dinnertime. She had quite the library made for herself. When she wasn't reading, she was working on her diamond art, or watching a western, or possibly watching a cooking show and coming up with her next family night meal. She and Michael also enjoyed watching their Saturday and Sunday football together or maybe playing some cards.

To know Patricia, you knew love. She loved deeply and selflessly. She had an infectious smile, a fiery spirit, and a heart twice the size of her. She was a blue-eyed angel walking this earth. Her presence will always be missed, and she will forever be loved … "to the moon and back."

Patricia is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Elmer and Nellie Freeman; paternal grandparents, Gid and Lois Massey; parents, Doyle Keith and Lora Mae Massey; three brothers, Randy Massey, Ronnie Massey and Brian Massey; a niece, Charity Massey; and daughter in-law, Lacy Shaw.

Patricia is survived by her spouse, Michael Moore; two sisters, Kathy Collins and spouse James, Brenda Cherry and spouse Tim; a brother, Timothy Massey and spouse Melinda; daughter, Chasity Phelan and spouse Wade; son, Garret Shaw; grandchildren, Makenzie Freeman and spouse Kyle, Chloe Phelan, Kasen Shaw, Landen Shaw, Dakota Wilson; great-grandchildren, Millie Freeman, Ivory Freeman, and Jameson Phelan.
