Patricia A. McCourt, 79, of Elkhart passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon at 3:46 p.m., April 13, 2024 in Vandalia, Michigan surrounded by her loving family.
She was born September 9, 1944 in Dowagiac, Michigan to William F. and Helen (Zablocki) Kalina.
On May 22, 1965 she married Edward J. McCourt, IV in Cassopolis, Michigan. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2019.
Patricia is survived by three daughters, Irene Canca of Istanbul, Turkey, Evelyn (Brian) Stout of Elkhart, and Bridget (Greg) Cotner of Tampa, Florida; three sons, Edward (Brenda Hayes) McCourt V, and Al (Tammy) McCourt, both of Bristol, and Mike (Lori) McCourt of Vandalia, Michigan; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by three siblings, Frank (Vicki) Kalina, and Phyllis Mosher, both of Cassopolis, Michigan, Teresa (Jim) Hershberger of Vandalia, Michigan; and a sister-in-law, Euna Kalina also of Vandalia, Michigan.
Along with her parents and husband, Patricia was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Kalina; brother-in-law, Charles Mosher, Sr.; son-in-law, Ali Canca; grandson, Sadur Canca; and niece, Janell Douglass.
Patricia graduated from Centreville High School, Centreville, Michigan in 1963. Following her marriage, she was a homemaker for several years, and helped run the family businesses, Bristol Door and Uncle Ed's Herbs and Flowers.
She also worked at Eby Pines restaurant for 10 years and Syndicate Store Fixtures for 20 years.
A member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Goshen, Patricia loved spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, sewing and reading, especially mystery novels.
Visitation will be Friday, April 19, from 4 to 6 p.m., followed by a 6 p.m., funeral service at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Father Brian Florin will officiate.
Burial will take place Saturday at 2 p.m. at Oakridge Cemetery, Bristol.
Memorial gifts may be directed to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 114 W. Monroe St., Goshen, IN 46526.
