My condolences to all who knew Patti. She and I were roommates for 2 years at UCSB in the late 60s. She introduced me to artichokes and I was a bridesmaid in her wedding, as she was in my wedding to Rick Hilton Aug 1970. She was a great friend even after she became a teacher. Love to all who knew her,

She was Aunt Pat to me. I remember Christmases with Aunt Pat, Uncle Jerrol, Cousin Melissa, Mom, and grandparents. Aunt Pat was thoughtful and kind. She is gone far too soon.

Patty was married to my husband´s stepbrother. For many years we shared vacations to Lake Powell and Bass Lake. Pat was a dedicated, loving wife and mother. Though we lived a distance apart, our daughters played together as they were born only months apart. Patty loved how the girls shared their love of horseback riding. Their giggles made us both laugh. We also shared holidays with the Mercer family. I know God has wrapped his loving arms around Patty as she holds Melissa and Jerry in her tight embrace.

Pat was my sister in law for many years but, lovingly always. She was always a caring and loving person. We shared the loss of Jerry and Melissa and both of us have carried their memory with us. I will carry her memory within me, too.

I taught with Mrs. Mercer at Bonita Elementary for many years. Bonita was a three classroom school. She taught Kindergarten, I taught first, second and third, and Mr Ahler taught fourth, fifth and sixth.
Mrs. Mercer was always coming up with fun activities for our 75 students.
She organized a partnership with Souza Farms, where we used their land to plant pumpkins seedlings. Once the pumpkins grew, our school begin the role of pumpkin farmers. We hosted other schools into the fields to collect pumpkins from our patch.
Mrs. Mercer even started a school garden where we grew our own vegetables. She was always creative and thinking of new ways to motivate the students. A very caring and loving person. She will be missed!
