Patricia Millard Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service - Goldsboro on Jan. 19, 2026.
Patricia Ann Hollingsworth Millard, 85, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Wayne County on September 6, 1940, to the late Luby Oliver Hollingsworth and Mary Louise Joyner Hollingsworth. In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Lloyd Hinson Millard.
Patricia was a proud graduate of Goldsboro High School, Class of 1957. She began her career in banking, working with American Savings Bank in Goldsboro and later with East Coast Federal. Her deep love for children ultimately led her to a fulfilling career in early childhood education, where she served as a daycare teacher at First Baptist Church in Goldsboro and later at Rosewood Day Care. Through her gentle spirit and nurturing heart, Patricia touched the lives of countless children and families.
Family was the center of Patricia's life, and she took great joy in being actively involved in all that her loved ones pursued. She also held a special fondness for the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and had a lifelong affection for ladybugs, both of which reflected her appreciation for beauty and simple joys.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Patricia's life will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel, with her nephew, Rev. Dan Millard, officiating. Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2026, at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
Patricia is survived by her sons, Mark Millard (Lidia) and Craig Millard (Robert).
The family extends heartfelt appreciation to her devoted caregivers and dear friends, Rhonda Daniels, Pat Wolford, and Robert Fuller, for their compassionate care and unwavering support.
Memorial contributions may be made in Patricia's memory to Dementia Alliance of North Carolina, 9131 Anson Way, Suite 206, Raleigh, NC 27615, or to First Baptist Church, 125 S. John Street, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
