Patricia Ann Monardes

Dr. Patricia Ann Monardes passed away on February 11, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, and wisdom.

A proud graduate of Loretto Academy, the University of Texas at El Paso, and University of California. Patricia carried her keen intellect and dedication to learning throughout her life. Her scholarly accomplishments were many, but what truly set her apart was the unforgettable presence she brought to every room. She truly was the spice of life for all who knew her.

Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved parents Oswaldo and Elia Benitez, her brother Johnny Benitez, and her husband Jaime Monardes.

She is survived by her four children: Jaime, Patricia, Gabriela and Cristian and four cherished grandchildren: Bella, Kevin, Eliana and Elisa, who will carry forward her love of learning, her resilience, and her tenacity. Her family was her greatest pride and joy, and she celebrated their accomplishments as if they were her own. Dr. Monardes will be remembered for her brilliant mind, her unwavering devotion to those she loved, and the lively spark that made her unforgettable. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her influence will live on in the many lives she touched.

Please join us in celebrating her life with a Rosary and Memorial on April 13th from 6-8 PM at Loretto Academy Chapel and El Convento 1300 Hardaway Street El Paso, Texas 79903 and Mass on April 14th at 11 AM at St. Joseph's Church 1315 Travis St. El Paso, Texas 79903.
