Mrs. Patricia Nice

Mrs. Patricia Nice, 79, of Tamaqua, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Easton. She was the widow of Raymond Nice, who died on Dec. 24, 2020.

Prior to retiring, she was a sewing machine operator at various garment factories. She previously worked as a dietary aide at Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital, Lehighton, and in the hardware department at Food Lane, Wind Gap.

Patricia was also an ordained minister and of Protestant faith.

Born in Point Phillip, she was the daughter of the late Clark F. Sr. and Mabel A. (Stahley) Mackes.

She studied to be a writer, loved to read, going to bingo, coloring, vacationing and couponing. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren had a special place in her heart.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Clark Jr., Franklin, Charles, Paul and Jay; three sisters, Mabel Czapp, Dorothea Mackes and Ethel Olliff; and a grandson, Baby Kuchta.

Surviving are a son, Edwin Bartholomew Jr. and his wife, Tammy, of Tamaqua; three daughters, Constance Bartholomew of Bath, Nadine, wife of Scott Buskirk of Palmerton, and Monica, wife of Stephen Kehs of Pen Argyl; two brothers, David and his wife, Judy, in South Carolina, and Eugene and his wife, Cathy, of Point Phillip; four sisters, Miriam, wife of Marshall Willis in Tennessee, Evelyn Fortun of Danielsville, Virginia Gilbert of Pottstown, and Emma Neipert in Florida; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Service: Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2025, Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 W. Penn Pike, Rt. 309, New Ringgold, with the Rev. Virginia M. Heimer officiating.
