Patricia Ann Phillips of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away from this life on December 3, 2021, at the age of 72. She was born in Oklahoma City to Carl Wesley Holland and Lydia Belle Holland, née Charles, on January 7, 1949. Patricia grew up in South Oklahoma City, and in her youth, was a Girl Scout and a member of the Rainbow Girls. She attended Capitol Hill High School, graduating with the class of 1967. Patricia was a legal secretary for a number of years before landing her dream job as a secretary for a large oil company.
Patricia was a feisty lady whose main goal in life was to have fun. Whatever the cause for celebration, she found a reason to decorate, always going all out. She absolutely loved the holidays, and celebrating each and every one was important to her. Patricia decorated her home for Fourth of July, Valentine's Day, Easter, and even St. Patrick's Day. She loved attending local events and festivals, like the State Fair, the Arts Festival, Paseo Festival and outdoor concerts.
She enjoyed flower gardening, listening to music from the 60s and 70s and of course, dancing. Also, Patricia was a die-hard OU Sooner fan, and she could scream at the TV with the best of them. She was an animal lover, but was particularly fond of cats. Daughter Hilarey says that her mom "always had a new cat", and Patricia fed any stray cat who showed up on her doorstep, making unlikely friends with many semi-feral felines over the years. She loved spending time outdoors, and when she was younger, she frequently took her children camping. She also loved traveling, taking several memorable road trips over the years. More than anything in this life, Patricia loved her family, and she simply adored her grandchildren. Patricia will be deeply and forever missed by all those who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Lydia Holland, and an infant sister, Imogene Holland.
Patricia is survived by her children, daughter Hilarey Phillips, and son Brandon Phillips; her granddaughters, Sydnie Phillips, and Isabelle Phillips; as well as her longtime childhood friend, Sandy Tipton.
A memorial service will begin at 4:00pm on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Elevate Church, located at 210 S. Broadway Ave. in Moore, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction and care of John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home & Chapel.
