Patricia “Patty” Gail Rogers went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2026.
Service of Remembrance is 1:00-3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Patty was born November 7th, 1947 to Robert and Wynema Smith in Santa Monica, California. She moved to Texas as a baby and graduated from Bridgeport High School. Patty dedicated her life to caring for her siblings and then her children. She often volunteered her time to the scouts as den mother. Patty worked as a security guard at the women’s Texas facility where she retired in 2013 after impacting the lives of women. She loved spending her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as gardening.
She is preceded in death by her great-grandma, Pepper; her parents, Robert and Wynema Faye Smith; and her sister, Janice “Jana” Roberts.
She is survived by her three children, Michael Gourley and wife Lisa, Michelle Ochoa and husband Augustine, Allan Smith and wife Dee, as well as her stepdaughter, Penny Pockrus and husband Billy; her grandchildren, Ashley and husband Jeremy, Wynema and husband Bryan, Heather, Hannah, Tamara and husband Brian; her great-grandchildren, Jayden, Dalilah, Nathan, Hunter, Caleb, Bryson, Shawn, Aaron, Brian Jr. and Chloe; her sister, Melanie Bradish and husband Bobby; her brothers, James Smith and wife Judy, Ronnie Smith and wife Leslyn; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of friends. Patty was so loved and will be missed dearly.
